lipflip – Trump Mobile’s T1 Phone has suffered another delay and will not launch in 2025, the Financial Times reports. Preorders first opened in June, with an initial shipping window of August or September. That timeline was later pushed to October, then November or December. Now, the release is postponed again, with the carrier estimating a mid- to late-January launch.

Government Shutdown Blamed
Trump Mobile customer service cited the US government shutdown from October 1 to November 12 as the cause of the delay. The shutdown forced the carrier to “pause everything on the FCC side of things,” according to one representative. Another agent confirmed the same to Fortune, noting that FCC certification was critical to launching the device. The shutdown also delayed the US launch of the OnePlus 15, which needed FCC approval before sales could begin.
Preorders Remain Open
Despite the delays, Trump Mobile continues to accept preorders online. Customers can place an order with a $100 down payment. However, the website does not provide a definitive delivery date. The lack of clarity has frustrated some early buyers, while others remain hopeful the January estimate holds.
About Trump Mobile
Trump Mobile launched as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in June 2025. The Trump Organization licensed the brand to T1 Mobile LLC, which Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump manage. The carrier offers a $47.45-per-month 5G plan that provides unlimited calls, texts, and data. T1 Mobile introduced the T1 Phone alongside the network, initially marketing it as a “Made in the USA” device. Later, the company adjusted the marketing language, stating that the device is “designed with American values in mind” and “brought to life right here in the USA…with American hands behind every device.”
T1 Phone Features
The T1 Phone comes with a 6.25-inch AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs Android 15 out of the box, although the RAM and processor remain unspecified. Storage is 256GB, expandable via a card slot. The device has four cameras: three on the back and one front-facing. Its 5,000 mAh battery supports 20W fast charging. The phone also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port.
Uncertain Launch Timeline
Repeated delays have raised questions about Trump Mobile’s ability to deliver a US-focused smartphone on schedule. Earlier explanations suggested a push to manufacture the phone entirely in the United States. Critics remain skeptical about the claim. The January timeline now serves as the carrier’s best estimate, pending FCC clearance and production readiness.

Looking Ahead
As the T1 Phone nears its delayed launch, customers and industry observers will monitor progress closely. Trump Mobile aims to establish itself as a niche MVNO while delivering its first smartphone. Whether the T1 Phone can meet expectations and compete with mainstream Android devices remains to be seen.
