Galaxy M36 5G Could Feature Exynos 1380 and Android 15

The Galaxy M36 5G recently appeared on Geekbench under the model number SM-M366B. The benchmark listing confirmed some hardware specifications, including the presence of 6GB of RAM and the Exynos 1380 chipset. This same processor was also used in last year’s Galaxy M35 and the current Galaxy A36 5G, indicating Samsung’s continued reliance on its in-house silicon.

The listing also revealed that the Galaxy M36 5G will ship with Android 15 out of the box. If accurate, this makes it one of the early adopters of Google’s upcoming mobile operating system. Samsung has been aggressive with software updates across its product range, and launching a phone with Android 15 would support that trend.

Performance-wise, the Exynos 1380 SoC is designed for mid-range phones. It offers decent efficiency and AI-based enhancements for camera and system performance. Samsung has confirmed the use of AI features in the Galaxy M36 5G, although it has not disclosed specifics yet.

Expected to Share Specs with Galaxy A36 5G

The Galaxy M36 5G is expected to share specifications with the Galaxy A36 5G, which launched in India earlier this year. The Galaxy A36 5G came with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and responsive touch performance.

It also includes a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, accompanied by ultrawide and macro lenses. The front-facing camera is expected to be a 12MP sensor housed in a punch-hole display. If the Galaxy M36 5G matches these specs, it will offer a strong multimedia and photography experience for under ₹20,000.

Battery performance is also expected to be solid, as the A36 5G featured a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. These specifications, if carried over, would give the Galaxy M36 5G a competitive edge in battery life and charging speed compared to other phones in the same price range.

Design and Build Highlight Lightweight Profile and Updated Colors

Samsung has hinted that the Galaxy M36 5G will feature a lighter design compared to its predecessor. While exact dimensions and weight remain unconfirmed, the emphasis on portability suggests Samsung is targeting users who prioritize comfortable, everyday use. The rear panel design appears minimalistic, with a vertically stacked triple camera module and no rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Samsung has teased a refreshed color palette for the phone. While the company hasn’t revealed the exact color options yet, it typically offers bold and youthful finishes in its M-series lineup. These design choices aim to attract younger consumers who want affordable yet stylish smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy M36 5G Poised to Compete in Budget 5G Segment

With the Galaxy M36 5G, Samsung is targeting the budget 5G smartphone market in India, a space that is becoming increasingly competitive. By pricing the device under ₹20,000 and including modern features like a 120Hz display, Android 15, and AI-powered cameras, Samsung is positioning the phone as a value-focused offering.

The phone will compete with rivals like the Redmi Note 13 5G, Realme Narzo 70 5G, and Motorola G73 5G. Samsung’s brand trust, combined with Amazon distribution, will likely strengthen the device’s market appeal. If the Galaxy M36 5G does indeed mirror the Galaxy A36 5G in hardware. It could emerge as a top contender in India’s sub-₹20,000 5G smartphone segment.
