lipflip – The Redmi Pad 2 appears close to launch, as leaked images and specifications surface online. This new model will reportedly succeed the original Redmi Pad from 2022. Xiaomi seems to be aiming for another strong showing in the budget tablet market.
Early information suggests the Redmi Pad 2 will feature a larger 11-inch display, slightly bigger than its predecessor’s 10.61-inch panel. Along with that, Xiaomi is introducing a more powerful chipset.
Buyers can expect performance improvements across multitasking and media playback. RAM options could go up to 8GB, while storage may peak at 256GB. The Redmi Pad 2 will likely run on Xiaomi’s latest software, HyperOS 2.1, right out of the box.

Redmi Pad 2 Design and Display Details Leaked Online
Leaked renders of the Redmi Pad 2 show a design that stays close to the original Redmi Pad. It includes thick display bezels and a pill-shaped rear camera module. At the bottom, users will find a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and speaker grills. This indicates that the tablet will keep essentials that budget users value.
The display is expected to be an 11-inch LCD panel with a 2.5K resolution (1600 x 2500 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate upgrade from the previous model offers smoother scrolling and video playback. The combination of size and resolution should also enhance the tablet’s media experience.
Performance and Hardware: A Bigger Battery and Better Processor
The Redmi Pad 2 may use the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset for improved performance and efficiency over the previous Helio G99. This new processor should handle general tasks, media playback, and gaming more reliably.
Xiaomi is expected to offer the tablet in two variants: one with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, and another with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device may also support storage expansion via microSD, although Xiaomi has not confirmed that detail yet.
A major improvement is the battery. This would provide all-day usage on a single charge. It will support 18W fast charging, ensuring users don’t have to wait too long to power back up.
Camera, Audio, and Multimedia Features
The Redmi Pad 2 is expected to include an 8-megapixel rear camera with AI enhancements and an f/2.0 aperture. This should be enough for casual photos and document scanning. On the front, it could feature a 5-megapixel selfie camera, suitable for video calls and online classes.
Audio also sees a boost. The tablet may come with a quad-speaker setup supported by Dolby Atmos. This upgrade will make it more appealing to users looking for a media-focused device for music, streaming, or games.
While camera upgrades remain modest, the focus clearly lies in enhancing the tablet’s core media and entertainment capabilities.
