The Poco M7 Plus stands out with a refreshed design, featuring a flat front display with a centered punch-hole selfie camera and a quad-curved rear panel. The back houses a dual-camera setup inside a pill-shaped module, a design shift from earlier M7 models.
Available in Aqua Blue, Carbon Black, and a distinctive Chrome Silver with red and blue trim accents. The phone has an upgraded IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, compared to the IP53 rating of the Poco M6 Plus.
The display has grown from 6.79 inches to 6.9 inches and now features a Full HD+ resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. Protected by Gorilla Glass 3, the panel is an LCD. Which continues Poco’s focus on affordability while offering high refresh performance.
Powering the Poco M7 Plus 5G is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. Coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. A MicroSD slot allows users to increase storage if needed. The phone runs Android 15 out of the box and is backed by two years of Android updates and four years of security patches.
New Battery Tech and AI Features Add to the Package
The Poco M7 Plus 5G’s biggest improvement is its battery. It features a 7,000mAh Silicon Carbon battery, up from the 5,030mAh cell in the M6 Plus. It supports 33W wired fast charging and 18W reverse charging, making it useful for powering other devices. Poco claims the battery maintains 80% health after 1,600 charge cycles and is designed to last at least four years.
In the camera department, Poco has replaced the M6 Plus’s 108MP rear sensor with a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, likely paired with a 2MP secondary lens. The front-facing camera remains an 8MP shooter. While the megapixel count is lower, Poco has added software-driven AI features, including AI Eraser, AI Sky Replacement, and AI Dynamic Shot, aimed at improving photo creativity and editing.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, dual SIM support, and Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which allows for touchscreen operation even with wet fingers. One omission worth noting is the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. While this may disappoint some users, it aligns with an industry trend toward wireless audio.
