The Hue Bridge Pro, which was first launched at IFA 2025, is receiving its first software update with version 2071112000. Meanwhile, the older Hue Bridge, which is available for $39.99 on platforms like Amazon, is getting update version 1973146020. Both devices will soon be able to support an exciting change in the Hue app’s Room view feature.

The new functionality will allow users to see more than just lights and scenes in the Room view of the Philips Hue app. The upcoming update will expand the Room view to include switches, sensors, cameras, and even MotionAware areas. Offering a more comprehensive look at all the smart devices in a given space.

These software updates will be rolled out over-the-air, meaning users don’t need to do anything manually to install them. Provided you have automatic updates enabled, the new versions will install automatically. To ensure that automatic updates are activated. Go to the app’s Settings, select Software update, and check the Automatic update option.

What Does the New Room View Update Mean for Philips Hue Users?

The addition of switches, sensors, cameras, and MotionAware areas in the Room view marks a significant upgrade for Philips Hue users. Currently, the Room view only displays lights and scenes, which can limit the user experience. This new feature will allow users to have a more holistic view of their smart home setup in one place.

Sensors, for example, could include motion sensors or door/window contact sensors that provide real-time data on the state of a room. Cameras will bring additional security benefits, allowing users to monitor their spaces more closely. MotionAware areas will help users track motion detection zones, which is especially helpful in homes with smart security systems.

Philips has not yet announced an official timeline for when this enhanced Room view will be available. But it will be part of a future Philips Hue app update. With the software update now being rolled out to the Hue Bridge and Hue Bridge Pro devices, users can expect to see these enhancements in the near future. By giving users more control and visibility over their smart devices, this update will improve the overall Philips Hue experience.
