lipflip – Samsung has announced plans to become the first TV manufacturer to natively integrate Google Photos into its smart TV platform. The company says the goal is to make personal photo libraries a natural part of everyday TV use, rather than a separate app experience. This integration will work closely with Vision AI Companion. Samsung’s advanced AI layer that builds on its Bixby assistant. Allowing photos to surface during what the company calls “contextual and convenient moments” while users navigate the TV interface.

Vision AI Companion Brings Photos Into Daily TV Use
At the center of Samsung’s strategy is Vision AI Companion. Which is designed to understand user behavior and context across the TV’s operating system. By connecting Google Photos to this system, Samsung aims to display personal images organically. Such as during idle screens, content discovery, or daily routines. Instead of manually opening a gallery app, users may see relevant photos appear naturally as part of their TV experience, reinforcing Samsung’s push toward more personalized and ambient computing on large screens.
Memories Feature Launching in Early 2026
The first Google Photos experience planned for Samsung TVs is called Memories. This feature will curate photo stories based on people, locations, and meaningful life events. Similar to how Google Photos already highlights memories on mobile devices. According to Samsung, Memories is scheduled to launch in March 2026 and will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months. This exclusivity underscores Samsung’s ambition to differentiate its TV platform through deeper software partnerships rather than just hardware advancements.
Create with AI Adds Generative Photo Tools
Later in 2026, Samsung plans to introduce Create with AI. A feature powered by Google DeepMind’s image generation and editing technology. This tool will allow users to transform their photos using themed templates and AI-driven visual effects. Beyond static edits, Create with AI will also enable users to convert still images into short videos. Adding motion and creative flair to personal memories. Samsung positions this feature as a playful and expressive way for families to reimagine their photo libraries on a large screen.

Personalized Results and the Future of Photo Slideshows
The third planned experience is Personalized Results, expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. This feature will generate themed slideshows based on image content or selected topics, such as travel destinations, outdoor activities, or specific locations like Paris. By analyzing photo metadata and visual elements, the TV will automatically assemble relevant collections. Together with Memories and Create with AI, Personalized Results reflects Samsung’s broader vision of turning TVs into intelligent hubs that blend entertainment, personal content, and AI-driven discovery in a seamless way.
