Let’s make it a productivity week. tuaw resp. Hawk Wings just spit out “Related Mail”, a very useful extension for Apple’s build-in Mail application. I’m getting lost in my emails frequently. Especially when I receive a reply weeks or month after my original mail or when a topic buried for years pops up again.
Mail.App does provide a few ways to dig out mails. You can open your original mail if you receive a reply, by clicking on the little “this is a reply” icon in mail list. Or you can try to use spotlight, but you have to ponder about a useful search query for that.
Related Mail fills that hole. It offers a new pane right next to the mail your reading. It is filled with links and ultra-short summaries of mails that might be relevant. May it be replies, original mails, or just mails to or from the same person.

The installation is a bit cumbersome for the unexperienced user, but the guide tells you everything you need to know.
Great work! – Give it a try!
